"He that walketh with wise men shall be wise.” – Proverbs 13:20
You become like the people you walk with—period. Scripture repeats the theme:
“Bad company corrupts good morals” (1 Cor 15:33); “Iron sharpens iron” (Prov 27:17). Even Psalm 1 opens with a promise that blessing follows the one who refuses the counsel of the ungodly.
Scan your circle: Podcasts in your ears. Feeds you scroll. Friends you text at midnight. Are they sharpening faith or dulling it? Proverbs 13:20 offers a guarantee—wise companions impart wisdom the same way close contact with perfume leaves its scent (Prov 27:9).
Ask God for mentors who live what they teach. Seek faith-filled friends who speak truth in love (Eph 4:15). And be that kind of friend for someone else. Your future self will thank you.
Today’s Prayer
“God, surround me with wise voices and make me a wise friend to others.”
